Application Support Engineer

Salary: £33,000-£40,000 + benefits
Location: Remote-first (occasional travel to Manchester or Oxfordshire)
Our client, a well-established and highly regarded medical communications agency, is looking to hire an experienced Application Support Engineer to join their in-house Technology team.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative environment, providing hands-on Microsoft 365 and application support to a workforce of approximately 120 users. You will work closely with an external Managed Service Provider (MSP), acting as a key internal point of contact to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
The position combines practical user support, platform administration, and ownership of the company Intranet, making it ideal for someone who enjoys improving how people work through well-configured, well-supported technology.
A central part of the role will be developing and managing the organisation's SharePoint Online Intranet, working with stakeholders across the business to deliver a modern, intuitive, and user-friendly platform. You will also support the rollout of new Microsoft 365 features and contribute to clear, well-maintained IT processes and documentation.
Essential skills and experience
- Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID).
- Proven experience designing and managing SharePoint Online sites.
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems and basic networking.
- Experience using Power Automate or other Microsoft 365 workflow tools.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal users and an external MSP.
- Ability to produce clear, practical IT documentation and processes.
Desirable experience
- Familiarity with IT asset management tools.
