Hensall Co-op is seeking a reliable individual to become an integral member of our Operations team! This position is full-time and will work out of the Hensall location. The Application Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe application for crop protection products and fertilizer to a wide range of row crops using top-of-the-line custom application equipment to service customer needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate application equipment to efficiently apply fertilizer and crop protection products as needed
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform minor repairs to prevent breakdowns
  • General maintenance of application equipment; including spreaders, gators, fertilizer tenders, and water wagons to ensure proper functionality
  • Maintain records of application, field conditions, daily trip, and safety inspection sheets
  • Provide superior customer service on farms and within HC locations
  • Operation of forklifts, loaders and other application equipment
  • Assist with elevator operations during harvest season
  • Understand and follow all HC Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Attention to detail with strong time management
• Excellent mechanical knowledge and skills to properly operate all equipment
• High degree of technical knowledge in pesticides, fertilizer, nutrients, and other crop protection products
• Strong understanding of agricultural and custom application practices
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends and overtime during peak seasons
• Ability to work independently with little supervision

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid G driver's license - AZ or DZ would be an asset
• Previous experience in an agricultural environment would be beneficial
• Ontario Pesticide Exterminator License or willingness to obtain
• Professional Applicator's License or willingness to obtain
