About the role:

As an experienced application engineer, you will be confident in working in the Life Sciences sector to deliver our solutions to the delight of customers successfully. To develop a deep knowledge of LIMS, ELN, and SDMS products and their applications within the Laboratory setting is essential for success, to become an expert in the configuration and deployment of Sapio Sciences products.

Working location:

This is a hybrid role, our application engineers work from our Euston, London office 1-2 times per week, alongside the rest of the EMEA technical team.


What you'll be doing:
  • Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of Sapio Sciences' products and services.
  • Work with the Sapio Sciences team to develop and deploy solutions for the customer.
  • Work closely with the Business Analysts and Solution Architects to understand the business requirements and processes.
  • Configure the Sapio products to meet time, budget, quality and customer success criteria.
  • Train customers on the configuration and use of the Sapio Sciences products.
  • Support customers in the subsequent implementation of the configuration.
  • Support customer deliverables as defined by the SA/BA in the subsequent implementation of the configuration.
  • Provide help on support portal to address customer's questions and issues on a rotating basis.
  • Follow Sapio Sciences agile deployment methodology.
  • Document customer feedback and ensure issues are addressed to provide the best customer experience and ultimate success of the project.
  • Meticulously manage all AE related deployment services documentation.
What we are looking for:
  • Strong programming skills with detailed knowledge of Java.
  • A Degree or equivalent in Computer Science.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and fact-finding skills.
  • Proven organisational skills, with the ability to deliver agreed workload within deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who is happy to learn from colleagues.
  • Highly respected and trusted by the customers you work with.
  • Great communicator.
  • Focused on activities that add value and avoiding those that do not.
  • Determined and persistent.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity and respect for co-workers, customers and prospects.
It's a bonus if you have the following:
  • Experience programming in Python.
  • Experience working with JIRA in a support capacity.
  • Life Sciences experience working within a Lab (preferably introducing new IT solutions).
  • Experience with configuring either LIMS or ELN or similar software.
  • Knowledge of one or more of GWT, MySQL, Oracle, Tomcat, Linux, AWS
