Job DescriptionRACS is currently seeking qualified, self-directed, and committed candidates for Anticipated Elementary Teacher positions for the upcoming school year.
We are looking for team players who are passionate about urban education and ready to collaborate on curriculum planning and responsive lesson planning practices.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, data-informed instruction in your subject area/grade level.
- Adapt or create curriculum creatively to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment using restorative practices.
- Work collaboratively with grade-level teams and the student support team to monitor student progress.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and mentoring programs.
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student achievement and behavior.
- Design developmentally appropriate activities that challenge students to think critically.
- Small Class Sizes: Maximum of 25 students.
- Curriculum Support: Curriculum provided for ELA and Math with room for creative adaptation. Upper grade departmentalization: Grades 4 and 5 are departmentalized with teachers assigned to ELA, Math, or Science and Social Studies.
- Balanced Schedule: Typical school hours are 7:15 AM - 3:15 PM.
- Supportive Culture: Access to a dedicated Student Care Staff for classroom management support and a formal mentoring program for new teachers.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant content area (Master's preferred).
- Certification: New York State Teacher Certification is highly preferred. (Candidates with out-of-state certification or in the process of certification will be considered).
- Experience: Experience in an urban school setting is preferred but not required.
- Mindset: A commitment to the belief that all students can succeed and an interest in restorative justice.
