We are the people behind Ireland's electricity grid. We operate the power system with world leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring that everyone has power when they need it. But that's not all, we are now transforming the power system for future generations. And that's just the beginning of our story. We have a critical purpose. That purpose is to transform the power system to enable our society to reduce our carbon emissions and meet our climate change and net zero ambitions.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Analyst - Business Intelligence to join our Onshore Infrastructure Delivery Programme Management Office. The successful candidate will support the Onshore PMO Business Intelligence Lead in developing the onshore business intelligence and analytics offering. You will also be responsible for supporting strategic, change related projects - simplifying reporting and storytelling of onshore business readiness and onshore capital projects for C Suite, Government and Regulator across our complex programme of work.

The role will support implementation of projects that are complex and require significant changes to how we source, store, transform, consolidate, quality assure and analyse our data. As part of the Business Intelligence team, the role will drive business process and inputs for IT system and application deliverables and outcomes.

A key part of the work is collaboration across EirGrid Business and IT teams in the areas of business intelligence, data modelling, analytics, business process change and reporting and controls.

The team is responsible for setting governance policies and standards for onshore business readiness and large scale onshore transmission infrastructure and regulatory auditing and monitoring of OpEx and CapEx delivery.

The team also develops reports on schedule and financial information and delivery of outcomes and benefits aligned to strategic objectives across the development and readiness of the onshore transmission infrastructure to key stakeholders such as DECC and the CRU.

Key responsibilities:

  • Power BI Development: Build and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports using Power BI. Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable visualisations.
  • ETL & Data Engineering: Design and implement ETL pipelines to ingest, clean, and transform data from multiple sources. Work with structured and semi structured data across cloud and on prem environments.
  • Data Modelling & Integration: Develop robust data models to support scalable reporting and analytics. Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate data across systems.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Apply data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support metadata management and documentation of data flows.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions. Contribute to cross functional efforts to improve data accessibility and usability.

About you

  • A university degree in Business, Information Technology or other equivalent degree, typically with 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and data visualisation techniques.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience implementing data analytic tools, reporting dashboards and business process change initiatives to improve data management and quality assurance.
