Location: Glasgow (2-3 days on site)

Salary/Rate: Up to £350 per day Inside IR35

Company introduction:

We have an exciting opportunity with a organisation undertaking a large-scale digital programme. They are seeking an experienced AI DevOps Engineer to join the team on a long-term contract.

Job responsibilities / objectives:

• Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) to support production and non-production environments.
• Manage and optimise containerised platforms using Kubernetes, ECS/EKS and related tooling.
• Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Git workflows.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using AWS CloudFormation and other infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot production issues and implement improvements for resilience and scalability.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth deployments, observability and secure configurations for APIs and microservices.

Required skills / experience:

• Proven experience working with containers and Kubernetes in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Proven experience using AWS CloudFormation (or equivalent IaC tooling) to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Strong practical experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git, Nexus and Jira.
• Hands-on experience of core AWS services - for example API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, ELB, EC2 and RDS (experience with Oracle RDS is advantageous).
• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing, peering, firewalls).
• Comfortable working with Linux servers and familiar with Java-based applications, APIs and microservices.
