Job Description

Are you an experienced Agriculture & Rural Property Solicitor or Legal Executive looking to take the next step in your career with a highly regarded South West law firm?

Our client is a well-established and respected regional practice with an excellent reputation for providing practical, commercially focused legal advice. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join their thriving Agriculture & Rural Property team in Wells.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and collaborative team advising a diverse client base of farmers, landowners, estates, rural businesses and private clients across the South West.

Your work will include:

  • Sales and acquisitions of farms, estates and rural land.
  • Agricultural tenancies.
  • Rural land development and diversification projects.
  • Succession planning support.
  • Agricultural finance and security matters.
  • Managing a high-quality caseload while building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver seamless legal advice.
About You

The successful candidate will be a technically strong and commercially minded Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a genuine interest in the rural sector.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 5 years' PQE in Agricultural Law, Rural Property, Commercial Property or a closely related discipline (applications from more experienced lawyers are also welcomed).
  • Strong technical knowledge of property transactions.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • A collaborative approach, while also being confident managing your own workload.
  • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members would be advantageous.
