The base salary for this role is £46,677- £54,957.This job qualifies for Digital, Data and Technology Annual Pay supplement of 8% which is included in the salary band above.

Working Pattern:
35 hours per week. We are a flexible employer and will consider a variety of working patterns on a case-by-case basis. For example, compressed hours, term-time working or part-time working.
Annual leave:
38 days annual holiday, increasing to 42 days with length of service.
Location:
Hybrid working model, we value in-person collaboration and anticipate this to take place at least weekly or whenever there is a business need. Contractual base either at Meadowbank House, Edinburgh (EH8 7AU), or St Vincent Plaza, Glasgow (G2 5LD).

The Role
We're looking for an Agile Delivery Manager (ADM) to join our dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. Whether it's supporting the delivery of digital services, software products, or critical business outcomes like property deed registrations, you'll play a vital role in helping teams work smarter and more effectively.

This role will initially be based in IT Enablement, which delivers digital hosting, security, and workplace services, or within product teams that build and support software for our colleagues and customers.

As an ADM, you'll collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, technical leads, developers, testers and other team members. You'll also engage with stakeholders across departments to identify and remove delivery obstacles, ensuring smooth progress toward team goals.

You'll coach teams to take ownership of their delivery processes, guiding them through iterative improvements using controlled experimentation, flow data and other performance metrics. You'll also ensure alignment with departmental and organisational standards.

This role requires a minimum of two years' experience in an Agile Delivery Manager/Lead, Agile Team Lead, Agile Coach or Scrum Master position. This requirement is essential to ensure the postholder has sufficient practical exposure to leading multidisciplinary teams, applying Agile and Lean principles in complex delivery environments, and managing stakeholder expectations.

In addition to managing delivery processes, the ADM plays a vital role in team dynamics - facilitating meetings and workshops, promoting collaboration, and helping to build a positive and inclusive team culture.

On a typical day you will
  • Support the delivery process, using rapid feedback to help teams focus on delivering value and quality
  • Coach and guide teams to inspect and adapt their process through continuous improvement
  • Coach team members in relevant Lean and Agile practices
  • Act as servant-leader in teams, helping them become more effective
  • Foster an open and trust-based environment in teams
  • Measure and analyse flow in teams, using flow metrics to suggest improvements and experiments
  • Support identification and removal of blockers in teams' work
  • Work closely with Product, IT Enablement or business managers and other stakeholders to ensure that the team(s) are delivering the right work in the best possible manner and that dependencies are managed
  • Support teams through the discovery, alpha, beta and live phases when delivering new services under the Digital Scotland Service Standard
  • Prepare to be move at short notice across Registration, Product and IT Enablement teams, or in other areas of the organisation, wherever there is a need
  • Provide support on Agile-related matters in response to one-off requests from any part of the organisation
  • Work with Agile colleagues to surface systemic impediments and support action to increase organisational agility
  • Actively contribute to the Agile Community of Practice, coaching and sharing knowledge
  • Provide training and support in Lean and Agile practices to colleagues across the organisation when required
  • Coach, mentor and line-manage HEO Associate Agile Delivery Managers
  • Help with selection and interviewing of candidates for Agile roles

Experience/Technical
We will assess you against the bolded Experience and Technical skills during the application and all during the assessment process:
  • Minimum of two years' experience working in a Delivery Manager/Lead, Agile Team Lead, Agile Coach or Scrum Master role
  • Experience of coaching and supporting teams to deliver through application of Lean and Agile principles, not just applying a specific framework
