Airline Flight Academy (AFA) flight training partner for a number of airline clients including Ryanair, is accepting applications for its self-sponsored B737 type rating programme. Successful candidates will be trained to the highest standards and will get the opportunity to fly the newest B for Ryanair Group, paving the way to becoming the airline's future Captains.

Requirements
  • Hold unrestricted right to live and work in the EU and/or UK.
  • Not over 65 years of age.
  • Valid EASA (CPL) frozen ATPL and/or Dual Licence (UK & EASA). Candidates with only a UK licence may fly solely for Ryanair UK fleet.
  • Valid EASA Medical Class 1 (EU Part MED).
  • Valid EASA multi engine instrument rating.
  • Certificate of satisfactory completion of EASA Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) in accordance with FCL.745.A.
  • Certificate of satisfactory completion of EASA APS MCC in accordance with AMC2FCL.735.A (standard MCC and MCC/JOC are not accepted).
  • Mentored training completion from an official partner flight school (including mentored APS MCC) gives preference and advantage in selection.
  • Flight school report in English, signed by the Flight School's Hot, containing all ATPL results, CPL & MEIR series passes and performance information.
  • Modular cadets must have 100 hours PIC, or 70 hours PIC if completed during integrated training.
  • Operational level English language proficiency (Level 4) required; written proficiency also required.
  • Pass enhanced background check and meet all regulatory requirements.
Assessment & Selection Process

Candidates selected will complete an online pre assessment test (fee €60). Shortlisted candidates will undergo the following stages at a training centre in Dublin or elsewhere:

  • Pre simulator briefing.
  • Company presentation.
  • Simulator assessment in a B or BFTD (45 min).
  • English language test.
  • Technical assessment (30 min).
  • Personnel interview (30 min).
  • Successful candidates offered a place on a type rating course.
  • Within 7 working days after assessment day, applicants will be contacted by phone or e mail with their results.
