This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Children with Disabilities Team in Walsall. You will support high quality statutory social work practice while contributing to leadership, mentoring, and service development within Children's Services.
What you will do- Manage a complex caseload including Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) cases involving children with disabilities.
- Lead high quality statutory assessments and oversee complex safeguarding and care planning work.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and practice guidance to Social Workers and less experienced practitioners.
- Support the Team Manager in promoting high practice standards and continuous service improvement.
- Ensure assessments and interventions comply with statutory requirements and best practice guidance.
- Work collaboratively with education, health, and other partner agencies to secure positive outcomes.
- Participate in court processes, preparing reports and supporting care proceedings where required.
- Champion the voice of the child, ensuring their wishes, feelings, and needs are central to all decision making.
