Main duties of the jobAbout the Role
You will work as an independent practitioner, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with a wide range of presentations, including acute illness, long-term conditions, and minor ailments.
- Part-time - 30 hours over 4 days
- Chaucer Surgery CV11 4UZ, Satis House B46 1TH, Camphill Health Centre CV10 9EB (with attendance at other Spirit surgeries/locations as and when required)
- Salary negotiable depending on experience (£46,022 £51,800 per annum)
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing same-day and routine patient presentations through face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations
- Prescribing safely and effectively, in line with current guidelines
- Ordering and interpreting investigations
- Making appropriate referrals to other clinicians or services
- Supporting QOF, chronic disease management, and preventative care
- Contributing to the continuous development of clinical services

Job responsibilitiesWorks autonomously as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, accountable for own practice
Provides advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management across all ages
Manages acute, chronic, and undifferentiated presentations using advanced clinical judgement
Conducts consultations via face-to-face, telephone, home visits, and surgery settings, including lone working when required
Prescribes and reviews medication within scope as an Independent Prescriber (or working towards)
Interprets diagnostics and investigations to support clinical decision-making
Refers appropriately to MDT, secondary care, and external services
Identifies and manages clinical risk, including safeguarding and emergencies
Contributes to chronic disease management, QOF, preventative care, and health screening
Supports patient education, self-management, and shared decision-making
Provides clinical leadership, supervision, and support to colleagues
Contributes to service development, audits, and quality improvement
Works within clinical governance, safeguarding, and organisational policies
Promotes safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care and continuous improvement
Person Specification Qualifications- Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
- Proven clinical experience in primary care or similar settings
- Managing same-day and routine patient presentations through face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations
- Prescribing safely and effectively, in line with current guidelines
- Ordering and interpreting investigations
- Making appropriate referrals to other clinicians or services
- Supporting QOF, chronic disease management, and preventative care
- Contributing to the continuous development of clinical services
- Experience with EMIS and similar clinical systems
- Knowledge of local healthcare pathways and community resources
- To work within the regulatory requirements, standards, codes, and guidance of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- To maintain professional and clinical competence through mechanisms of continuing professional development.
- To act in such a manner at all times to promote confidence and public trust and uphold the reputation and image of Spirit Primary Care Ltd.
- To have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to working as part of a team.
- To exhibit excellent communication skills when dealing with clients, other healthcare professionals and colleagues. Non-verbal and verbal skills required.
