Job Description

At Local Care Direct, we have an exciting opportunity forqualified Advanced Clinical Practitioners in our streaming service at HuddersfieldRoyal Infirmary. We are looking for motivated candidates who are fullyqualified ACPs in possession of an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or a PostGraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice, with independent prescribingqualification.

The ideal candidate will haveexperience of working in an urgent care/ primary care setting and haveexperience of caring for adults and children. The advanced clinicalpractitioner will provide assessment and management of minor illnesses andinjuries within the ED streaming service. Although the post holder will workautonomously clinical support is available if required.

The advanced clinicalpractitioner will work collaboratively with colleagues in the emergencydepartment to ensure timely assessment, advice and treatment of patientsattending the service.

Hourly Rate: £29.02 in hours & £37.73 out of hours

(In Hours = Monday to Friday 08.00 to 18.00 & Out ofHours = Monday to Friday 18.00 to 08.00 and all day Saturday Sunday)

HRI Streaming service opens Monday to Friday 18.15-22.15,Saturday and Sunday 09.45-22.15

Location: Local Care Direct, Huddersfield Royal Infirmary,Acre Street, Huddersfield, HD3 3EA

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will practice, withoutdirect supervision, as an independent primary / urgent care healthcarepractitioner within various clinical environments, participating in care of allage ranges and presenting conditions.

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will undertakeassessment, diagnosis, treatment including prescribing if appropriate /referral and discharge of patients with primary / urgent care needs withintheir clinical competence.

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will provide clinicalmentorship and leadership to all trainee and peer practitioners within theworkplace when required.

Qualifications
  • QualificationsOne of the following: NMC Registered General Nurse
  • OR BSc in Paramedic Science/IHCD Paramedic qualification
  • OR BSc in Physiotherapy OR MPharm
  • AND Advanced Clinical Practitioner MSc/Post Grad Diploma in advanced clinical practice (minimum 1 year post Masters study).
  • Current registration with HCPC, NMC or GPhC.
  • Spotting the sick child.
  • Level 7 Minor Injury Qualification.
  • MSc or PGdip in advanced practice (or equivalent (mapped to all outcomes on the Multiprofessional advanced practice framework HEE).
  • HEE digital badge.
  • NHS credentialing via the supported e portfolio route
Training
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and application to practice in line with own professional regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of training needs in relation to post.
Experience
  • Evidence of a range of clinical expertise, working independently in a healthcare role.
  • Experience of working in an autonomous practitioner role. Evidence of competence in the clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of adults and paediatrics presenting with undifferentiated diagnosis.
  • Experience of managing minor illness.
  • Experience of mentorship, leadership and research in clinical practice.
  • Experience of working in primary/urgent care.
  • Emergency Care.
