Job Title: Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Band: 8a
Location: Renal
Hours of Duty: 37.5 hours per week
The Renal service at UHNM provides treatment over three sites: Stoke, Stafford and Leighton. The ACP role covers the Haemodialysis centre at RSUH as well as the two Satellite Units in Staffordshire and Cheshire, and a 32 bedded inpatient Renal ward. We also have Outpatient teams that the ACP's support with; this includes Home Therapies, Transplant and AKCC.
Main duties of the jobThe Renal ACP role will support with delivering services across all three sites. Knowledge and experience in Haemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis is essential. Rotation across all modalities is a core element of the role as well as supporting on the inpatient ward and triaging the acute referrals.
There is also the opportunity to enhance clinical skills with line insertions following training.
The ACP team also has an allocated nurse led clinic.
Health assessment and Non Medical Prescribing are essential for this role.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications- Current registration with professional body such as NMC or HCPC
- MSc degree in advanced clinical practice or equivalent MSc
- Registered independent non-medical prescriber
- Mentor/assessor or formal teaching qualification
- Currently working as a qualified ACP
- Evidence of continued professional development in all four pillars of advanced practice (clinical, leadership & management, education and research)
- Formal leadership and management experience
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Evidence of delivering training programmes and presentations to various levels of staff
- Positive mindset in respect of organisational change; learning and continuous improvement
- Acts to support and enable effective teamwork
- Effective interpersonal and intrapersonal skills including high degree of self-awareness and self-regulation
