Job Description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Long days and nights. 4 days - Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday or Thursday flex. This position is full time, with an annual salary up to £64,471 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team. This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including mental health and substance misuse practitioners
  • Act as a role model, ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
  • Support senior clinicians on site and be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, work with the team to ensure patient safety, management of complex cases, and that the most up-to-date treatment methodology is applied to patient care

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
