Multiple agency social work posts for a 6-month period.
To address the backlog waiting list of Care Act reviews in the Community Learning Disability service - currently 475 reviews across the 3 teams the service. Longest wait is from April 23. This is a critical part of our statutory responsibilities to annual review. We are facing increasing demand, more resource-intensive involvement with people experiencing multiple disadvantages, a growth in Community DoLS work and the expectation on social care staff to complete timely, robust, person-centred and cost-effective interventions is under increasing scrutiny. All of this has resource implications and is leading to significant waiting lists. We have evidenced that grant funding for additional staffing has previously reduced backlog and had a significant impact on waiting lists.
