Job Description

Grade 4 - £26,707 to £27,319 per annum (depending on experience)

Hallam Talent is Sheffield Hallam University's in-house recruitment agency, playing a key role in creating flexible, paid employment opportunities for students. Through these opportunities, students can develop valuable skills, gain practical experience and enhance their employability alongside their studies.

Using your organisational skills and attention to detail, you will provide high-quality administrative support and deliver an excellent customer experience for students, staff and employers engaging with the service.

As a member of the Hallam Talent team, you will play an important role in supporting student employment and employability activity, ensuring enquiries are handled professionally, records are maintained accurately, and processes are delivered efficiently and compliantly. You will also help ensure students receive timely support and payment, maintain the accuracy of employment data, and contribute to the smooth delivery of recruitment and operational processes across the service.

We are looking for someone who will:

Provide professional, customer-focused support to students, staff and employers.

Manage enquiries and administrative processes accurately and efficiently.

Maintain databases, records and systems to a high standard, ensuring data quality and compliance.

Support student employment administration, including right-to-work checks and timesheet processing.

Ensure compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements, maintaining accurate records and supporting processes that enable students to work in line with visa and employment regulations.

Contribute to the delivery of recruitment, employability and operational activities across the service.

Build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues across the University.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism, tact and discretion.

Help identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance the student and employer experience.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.

If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.

The role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route so if you are an international applicant, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
