As a key member of the Student Accommodation Team, the Administrator - Student Accommodation plays an important role in supporting the smooth, efficient and welcoming operation of our student residence across the full resident journey.
You will bring strong administrative expertise to support day to day operations, systems, and processes, while also contributing to projects, initiatives, and workstreams across the Pastoral Support team as required.
Beyond administration, this role has a strong people focus. Everyone involved in the running of the Student Residence (Ōtautahi House) contributes to a supportive, pastoral environment. You will work closely with colleagues to help ensure residents feel safe, supported, and connected, with a particular awareness of the wellbeing and support needs of 18 to 25 year olds.
The role also supports the coordination of student events and activities within the residence. This includes helping with planning, administration, communication, and logistics that contribute to a positive residential experience, encourage connection, and build a strong sense of community.
This is a full time role, Monday to Friday during standard business hours, with flexibility required to support events and activities that may occur in the evenings or on weekends.

- Recent relevant office administration experience supporting senior leaders and/or teams
- Confidence using the Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software
- Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience working with complex administrative systems and processes
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in environments with competing and changing demands
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a professional and welcoming phone manner
- A proactive approach, with the ability to take initiative and deliver work to a high standard
- Strong judgement and problem solving skills
- Experience engaging positively with people from a range of cultures and backgrounds
- A learner centred mindset, with awareness of wellbeing and support needs of young adults
- Ability to work efficiently, responsively, and calmly in a fast paced and evolving environment
- Commitment to continuous improvement and finding better ways of working
- Interest and experience in supporting events or activities coordination, or a willingness to learn
