Operational Support Officer - Leeds Westgate LS1 2RP
Full-time, Office-Based 37 hours per week £12.86 rising to £13.25 per hour after 12 weeks
Our client, a reputable organisation within the justice sector, is hiring for an Operational Support Officer to join their team in Leeds. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support court and tribunal operations, ensuring proceedings run smoothly and efficiently.
What you'll be doing- Assisting with the preparation and smooth running of court and tribunal hearings, including managing documentation and systems.
- Handling enquiries via face-to-face, telephone, email, and digital channels from court users, legal professionals, and partner agencies.
- Providing clear guidance and support to members of the public, including vulnerable individuals and those with additional needs.
- Processing casework, maintaining accurate records, and updating internal systems in line with procedures and data protection standards.
- Managing legal documents, correspondence, hearing notices, and administrative tasks to support case progression.
- Supporting scheduling, listings, jury administration, and other operational activities to ensure services operate efficiently.
- Collaborating with colleagues, judicial office holders, and external stakeholders to deliver a professional service.
- Responding professionally to sensitive situations and escalating issues when necessary.
- Assisting hearing room activities by preparing case materials and supporting judicial office holders during hearings.
- Reliability and strong organisational skills to manage a busy workload.
- Confidence in communicating with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems.
- A professional, resilient, and calm approach under pressure.
- A team-oriented mindset with keen attention to detail.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Basic DBS check required.
- Candidates that have spent more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 3 years will need an additional overseas police check. This check is the responsibility of the candidate to provide.
- This is a full-time, office-based role based in Leeds.
