Job Description
Administration Team Leader - School Nursing Service

Early Intervention & Prevention Care Group, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

Closing date: 31 May 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of admin staff for the School Nursing Service.
  • Support school nurses with campaigns.
  • Manage multiple email inboxes.
  • Ensure GDPR and confidentiality compliance.
  • Shortlist and interview candidates.
  • Log and monitor sickness and approve annual leave on ESR.
  • Maintain electronic staff file system.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 4 and/or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Relevant secretarial or typing qualification.
  • Good standard of general education and knowledge of data protection law.
  • ILM level 3 or willingness to work towards.
Experience
  • Administration experience in a clinical setting including waiting list management.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems.
  • Ability to solve non-routine issues and develop processes.
  • Demonstrable experience of line managing staff including training, recruitment, and implementing HR policies.
  • Experience of dealing with patients and families, including resolution of low level concerns.
  • Experience of managing demanding workload within a team for effective service delivery.
Skills
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
