Job Description
Overview 
Full time 37 hrs per week, Monday Friday. Long term temporary role. Pay £12.86 £13.25 per hour. Location: Southend. Start date: ASAP.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings.
- Produce court/tribunal documents.
- General photocopying and filing.
- Create and update records in the in house computer system, and input data.
- Perform post opening and dispatch duties.
- Book, prepare and organise meeting rooms, support training courses and other group activities.
- Prepare meeting agendas, joining instructions, handouts and related materials.
- Draft standard letters and correspondence, minutes, notes, reports, submissions etc. in accordance with guidelines and instructions.
- Clerk civil and family court, tribunal and hearing papers, ensuring materials are available and up to date.
- Assist court users, support listing and rota management, check files.
- Contact relevant parties, schedule, serve court documents, execute a range of warrants, collect fines and fees (including use of chip and pin).
- Handle counter (face to face), written and telephone enquiries.
- Participate in Team Information Board meetings to ensure relevance, timeliness and productivity.
- Problem solve with the team, assess the impact of new SOPs, contribute to small projects.
- Take on ad hoc roles within the band such as Jury Bailiff Officer, L+D Co ordinator, H+S roles.
- Process casework including standard documentation, court orders, claims, fines and fees, legal aid.
- Interpret information accurately on a court file.
- Work to workload targets in terms of throughput and accuracy.
- Check and verify documents, records, accounts, claims and returns for approval, results, statistics, plans against criteria, regulations or procedures.
- Ensure compliance and that administration documentation meets quality standards.
