Role Summary

SYPAQ is looking for a Software Developer to join our team working with the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG). The position is available to be worked from ACT, SA, VIC and WA with a hybrid work model. In a small development team, you will provide software development support to further develop the Data Management and Science & Technology Reports platforms, including Dspace and Redbox. These platforms are containerised, run on Linux servers, and use current web development frameworks deployed via CI/CD pipelines and managed using Agile development methods.

Responsibilities

• Build Java and Angular applications from provided source and manually install required packages.
• Perform code modification and addition, ensuring high quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with the development team to customise and deploy full stack web applications and their associated CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Linux administration and web application configuration for the platforms.
• Utilise Docker for containerisation and maintain development environments.
• Support and maintain Dspace and Redbox platforms.

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrated experience customizing and deploying full stack web applications with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, and Java.
• Experience in Linux administration and web application configuration.
• Knowledge of current web development frameworks and languages.
• Experience using Docker.
• Experience with Dspace and Redbox is desirable.
• Database management and development skills.
• Experience with Python.

Qualifications

• Hold a current NV2 or higher Defence Security Clearance.
• Minimum 5+ years of industry experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Demonstrated consulting skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
