As a Porter at Sodexo in Royal Stoke Hospital, you'll be an essential part of the hospital's daily operations.
- Safely moving patients, vital equipment, and medical supplies throughout the site. With professionalism and a friendly approach, you'll help reduce the stress of hospital visits for patients, staff, and visitors alike.
- Guide patients, visitors, and staff to the correct hospital locations.
- Handle waste collection and recycling while maintaining health and safety standards.
- Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Safely transport patients between wards using appropriate equipment and care.
- Deliver specimens, samples, and blood products securely across departments.
- Support with respectful transfer of deceased patients.
- Provide additional porter services such as mail delivery, pharmacy runs, moving furniture, and transporting records or stock.
- Physical stamina and ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
- Awareness of health and safety practices in a hospital setting.
- Calmness under pressure and adaptability to changing tasks.
- A strong team ethic with the ability to work independently when needed.
- An understanding of confidentiality, emotional resilience, and sensitivity in difficult situations.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- A helpful, patient-focused attitude and commitment to delivering excellent customer care.
