Our team supports audit engagements and corporate clients across pensions, valuations and financial risk matters. We bring together actuaries, CFA charterholders and FRM professionals to provide practical, commercially focused advice.As part of a growing team of approximately 15 professionals, this role offers significant responsibility, visibility and progression opportunities. For the right individual, there is clear potential to develop into more senior leadership roles as the team continues to grow.We are committed to embracing innovation and AI-enabled ways of working. Grant Thornton continues to invest heavily in AI capabilities across the firm and we actively explore how emerging technologies can enhance actuarial modelling, risk analysis and client advisory work.A look into the roleAs a Manager within our Actuarial and Risk Modelling team you will:Lead the delivery of pensions actuarial engagementsManage client relationships and act as a trusted adviserReview technical work and coach junior team membersContribute to business development, proposals and thought leadershipSupport the growth and development of the Actuarial & Risk Modelling practiceProjects we undertake which are relevant to this role are:Corporate side DB pension scheme adviceAccounting and audit supportPension scheme remediation projectsFunding, de-risking and endgame strategy projectsIndependent assurance engagementsTransaction support and due diligenceCorporate and pension scheme audit supportPensions related independent assurance exercisesValuation of longevity swaps and SPVsKnowing you're right for usAs a Manager in our Actuarial and Risk Modelling team it would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.Qualified ActuaryDefined Benefit pensions experienceExperience managing multiple internal or external stakeholders and working within set project timeframesGood communication and report writing skillsAbility to work to tight deadlines and exceed client expectationsComfortable monitoring junior team members works and coaching/career developmentCommercial awareness and interest in growing a practiceInterest in AI, innovation and data-driven advisory servicesFlexibility to adapt your role as required to meet the needs of a growing teamKnowing we're right for youEmbracing uniqueness, the culture at Grant Thornton thrives on the contributions of all our people, we never settle for what is easy, we look beyond to deliver the right thing, for everyone.
