Job Description

We are looking for a confident Activity Co-ordinator with a passion for delivering outstanding care.This role will be working Monday to Friday 40 hours a week across two wards making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Elowen Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Nova Ward is our 12 bedded service providing a highly specialised eating disorder service, supporting individuals with a low BMI. We focus on supporting individuals to restore their weight to a healthy BMI, whilst providing them with the psychological support and skills to continue their recovery journey at home. Alina Ward is our 12 bedded complex personality disorder service for those with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder and co morbid disordered eating.

We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;

Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.

Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained

Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

Were looking for someone who has

Experience and/or a pas sion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities

Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy

A creative flair and the ability to work as part of a interdisciplinary team

An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)
