Job Description

The role of Activities Co-Ordinator at Chestnut View Care Home in Haslemere, Surrey involves planning and coordinating engaging activities for the residents of this 60-bed residential, nursing, and dementia care home. The successful candidate will have a passion for enriching the lives of the residents through fun and stimulating activities, using their interpersonal skills and creativity to deliver a varied and fulfilling activity program.

Main duties of the job

As the Activities Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and delivering a range of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of the residents. This includes organizing group activities, one-on-one sessions, outings, and events that promote physical, cognitive, and social well-being. You will work closely with the care team to understand the needs and preferences of each resident, ensuring that the activity program is tailored to their individual requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining activity records, budgeting, and managing a team of volunteers to support the delivery of the program.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate for the Activities Co-Ordinator role will have a passion for working with the elderly and a genuine interest in promoting their well-being. Previous experience in a care or activity-based setting is preferred, but not essential. You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to think creatively and adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of the residents. A growth mindset and a commitment to continuous learning are also essential.
