Job Description
Role Overview

Start Date: September 2026. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate to assume the role of acting head of girls' sport from September or October 2026 to cover a period of maternity leave. The position is ideally offered on a full time basis, although part time applications may also be considered.

Responsibilities

The successful post holder will oversee the coordination and running of girls' sport, with particular responsibility for netball. Sixth form girls enjoy a wide range of sports, and the head of girls' sport works closely with the relevant heads of sport to ensure appropriate provision. The role will also involve working across the boys' programme in both the junior and senior schools, requiring significant before and after school commitments and attendance at Saturday fixtures.

  • Strong energy, dynamism and resilience to lead and work as part of a team.
  • A demonstrated, strong interest in netball, together with proven coaching ability.
  • Enjoys the complexity of running day to day sporting activities.
  • Strong pastoral instincts and a commitment to excellent pastoral care and safeguarding for all pupils.
  • Committed to excellence with the highest aspirations for both pupils and staff.
  • Able to prioritise and manage time effectively, possessing excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills.

  • Has a good understanding of how girls' experiences at school shape their involvement in exercise, sport and physical well being for their future lives.
