Due to continued growth, a Top 20 accountancy firm is looking to appoint an Accounts Semi Senior to support the delivery of high-quality client work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working in practice who is looking to build on their technical experience in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, with clear progression opportunities.
You will work closely with managers and partners while taking ownership of your own portfolio responsibilities, gaining exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance and audit assignments.
Role Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Assisting with management accounts production for a varied client portfolio.
- Supporting the preparation of corporation tax computations and VAT returns.
- Assisting with personal tax and corporate tax compliance work.
- Contributing to audit assignments, including fieldwork and liaising with clients.
- Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintaining regular client communication and building professional relationships.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team where required.
- Keeping technical knowledge up to date in line with professional development requirements.
Personal Requirements
- AAT qualified and/or ACA/ACCA part-qualified (qualified candidates also considered).
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical grounding in accounts preparation.
- Confident communicator with good client-facing skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software.
- A proactive and dependable team player.
