Accounts Payable Accountant

For this specific project, you'll take on the role of Accounts Payable Accountant, supporting the finance operations of an international player in the chemical industry. You'll be responsible for processing invoices, managing documentation, and supporting supplier accounting activities.

You'll join a dynamic team where you'll play a key role within the accounting department.

Location: Antwerp

Your responsibilities

• Triage and collection of all incoming invoices and credit notes for double approval across divisions.
• Coding, registering, scanning, and filing of all incoming invoices and credit notes.
• Processing invoices related to purchase orders
• Registering and archiving related to reverse charge VAT.
• Filing the yearly print-outs of all accounting journals.
• Creating lists of unapplied vendor items in the context of SOX compliance.
• Cleaning up open supplier payments and invoices.
• Handling supplier reminders and payment follow-ups.

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in a financial or economic field.
• You have several years of relevant experience in accounting or accounts payable.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Navision and/or SAP is a strong plus.
• You work accurately and efficiently, with a strong focus on detail and structure.
• You are a strong communicator and enjoy collaborating with internal stakeholders.
• You take initiative, work independently, and proactively solve problems.
• You are fluent in Dutch and have a good knowledge of English; knowledge of French is a plus.
