A leading top 10 accountancy firm is seeking an experienced ABAS Senior Manager to join its growing team in Bury St Edmunds. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, provide strategic financial guidance, lead and develop teams, and play a key role in driving business growth. The position offers a blend of client-facing advisory work, leadership responsibilities, and involvement in wider practice development within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Role Responsibilities- Managing a portfolio of complex clients across a range of sectors.
- Acting as a trusted adviser, providing strategic financial and business advice.
- Leading client meetings and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Reviewing statutory accounts and corporate tax work to ensure compliance and quality.
- Supporting clients with business planning, growth strategies, and operational improvements.
- Mentoring, coaching, and developing junior team members and managers.
- Managing workflow, delegation, and team performance effectively.
- Identifying opportunities for additional services and supporting business development activity.
- Collaborating with other service lines on complex technical matters.
- Keeping up to date with legislative and regulatory changes affecting clients.
- Supporting process improvements and driving efficiencies across the team.
- ACA / ACCA / CA qualified or qualified by experience.
- Strong background working within an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience managing a client portfolio and leading teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts and business advisory services.
- Commercially minded with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
- Confident reviewing accounts and corporate tax work.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.
