Role Purpose
  • Client Portfolio Management
    • Take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
    • Identify opportunities to add value and support clients' business growth.
  • Service Delivery
    • Manage the end-to-end delivery of accounting and advisory assignments, ensuring work is completed efficiently and within budget.
    • Review and finalise financial statements and ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards (including FRS 102 1A).
    • Respond to client queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Advisory & Technical Support
    • Deliver tailored advisory projects, providing practical and commercially focused solutions.
    • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and accounting standards, identifying impacts and opportunities for clients.
    • Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g. legal and financial advisors) where required.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Support, coach, and mentor junior team members.
    • Delegate work effectively to support team development and ensure efficient workflow.
    • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Operational Contribution
    • Play an active role in the day-to-day management of the team.
    • Support the achievement of financial, utilisation, and performance targets.
    • Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the department.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent), with approximately 3 years PQE.
  • Experience managing or contributing significantly to a client portfolio, ideally within a practice environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience reviewing accounts and delivering compliance and advisory work.
  • Comfortable using cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero) and embracing new technologies.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is desirable.
  • Commercially aware, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
