Accountant (Temporary position/ 1-year cover)

The Accounting & Reporting department is part of our corporate functions that include finance partners, legal experts, human resources specialists, and more. Our Corporate functions partner closely with business leaders - and with each other - to create and support the strategic roadmap. In This Role

• Responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual closure of accounting records for several EMEA region legal entities.
• Calculate, prepare, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Analyze account balances, investigate unusual items, determine necessary adjustments, and complete reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Review financial statements and variance analysis.
• Review and post journal entries, investigate and resolve issues identified through research of accounting documents, and follow up with others as needed.
• Participate in the preparation of internal and external financial reporting.
• Translate US GAAP to Local GAAP accounting records.
• Align with key stakeholders such as internal and external auditors, management, financial analysts, and country managers.
• Reconcile VAT accounts, ensure timely VAT submissions, and handle other local reporting such as statistics.
• Reconcile Corporate Income Tax (CIT) accounts and ensure timely payment of CIT obligations.
• Coordinate with other accounting, finance, and related areas to analyze questions, determine resolutions, and provide guidance on ad-hoc requests and projects.
• Post, review, and reconcile cross-border charges and transactions, providing summaries and supporting documentation as required. Apply accounting policies involved in cross-border transactions.

What You Will Need to Succeed

• Bachelor's degree in finance or equivalent with a focus in Accounting.
• At least 1-3 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in a multinational company.
• Understanding of applicable accounting rules and regulations (US GAAP preferred).
• Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
• Tech-savvy with strong skills in MS Office (Excel), SAP Analytics, and Blackline.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Interest in finance automation and process improvement (e.g., process mining, RPA, advanced analytics).
• Ambitious with a desire to grow as a finance professional and leader within IDEXX.
