We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in Limerick. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of key accounting functions within a growing construction business.
Working closely with the Managing Director and wider management team, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including management accounts, payroll, Revenue compliance, accounts payable and receivable, cashflow management and year-end reporting.
What You'll DoPrepare timely and accurate management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, control accounts and supporting schedules.
Support the day-to-day operation of the Finance department, ensuring financial information is processed accurately and efficiently.
Carry out regular bank, supplier, debtor and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts and cashflows.
Maintain accurate financial records relating to subcontractors, suppliers and project expenditure.
Assist with the preparation of the year-end audit fileand liaise with external auditors throughout the statutory audit process.
Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and CRO submissions.
Liaise with external tax advisers regarding Corporation Tax, Preliminary Corporation Tax and other tax matters.
Provide financial information and support to internal departments including Commercial, Operations and Senior Management.
Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, suppliers, subcontractors and financial institutions.
Assist in reviewing and improving financial procedures, internal controls and Standard Operating Procedures.
Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making.
Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA, or a suitably experienced accountant with a strong accounting background.
Previous experience in an Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar finance role.
Construction industry experience is desirable but not essential.
Strong working knowledge of management accounts, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and Revenue compliance.
Good understanding of VAT, PAYE and RCT within an Irish business environment.
Experience with payroll processing would be advantageous.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prepare financial information accurately.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues, suppliers, subcontractors and external advisers.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar systems.
Experience with payroll software such as CollSoft or simila rwould be an advantage.
Comfortable working within a growing, fast-paced and commercially focused organisation.
