Accountant - Permanent Role Galway

Are you an experienced Accountant looking for a permanent role in Galway? We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled finance professional to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong accounts and payroll experience, ideally with a background in the construction sector.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key part in managing all aspects of accounts and payroll within a busy and growing company. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Galway, offering long-term career stability and excellent progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for day-to-day accounting, including accounts payable and receivable
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
• Payroll processing in compliance with Irish legislation
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and statutory filings
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Implementing accounting best practices and maintaining strong financial controls

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Solid experience in all areas of accounts and payroll
• Strong knowledge of Irish accounting standards and taxation
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel and accounting packages
• Ability to work independently, with excellent attention to detail
• Previous experience in construction or a related industry is a distinct advantage
