Accountancy Practice - Small Firm Client Manager

This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in a small to mid-sized practice, who is comfortable managing their own portfolio while also reviewing the work of junior staff.
The RoleYou will take ownership of a varied client portfolio, acting as the main point of contact and delivering a high standard of service across accounts and tax. The role offers a balanced mix of hands on work and review responsibilities, with genuine scope for progression.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a portfolio of owner managed businesses, including limited companies, LLPs, and sole traders
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102/105)
- Reviewing corporation tax and personal tax work
- Acting as the primary contact for clients, providing ongoing advice and support
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance and mentorship
- Ensuring deadlines are met across accounts, tax, and compliance work
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Proven experience working within a small or independent accountancy practice
- Confident managing client relationships and handling queries directly
- Comfortable with a mix of preparation and review work
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
- Proactive, organised, and able to work with a high degree of autonomy
