Job Description

Accounts Assistant - temporary 3 months contract

My client in the Insurance industry are searching for an Accounts Assistant to join the team on a 3 month contract. This is a hybrid position with the office location as London.

Key Skills

  • Carries out daily bank reconciliations across all entities
  • Allocates cash receipts for all entities and investigates/resolves unallocated cash
  • Supports delivery of the month end close process in line with Group deadlines
  • Reconcilers Insurer statements in SPF and SPFCI, prepares settlements and carry out investigation of any unreconciled items in accurate and timely manner
  • Owns and reconciles Balance Sheet nominals ensuring accurate accounting
  • Sets up one-off payments in Unit4 and bank
  • Runs fixed asset register and monthly depreciation schedule

Capabilities

  • Experience with nominal ledger and budgeting and reporting systems
  • Effective communication skills and strong team player
  • Analytical attitude, capable of interpreting and analysing financial data
  • Timely and accurate execution of allocated responsibilities
  • Comfortable working autonomously with limited oversight
  • Good Excel and communication skills
  • Competent working in and using accounting software
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Pro-active approach to work
