We are looking for a student to join the Groups Team as our Academic Societies Assistant, supporting the creation, development and success of Academic Societies across the University.
In this role, you will work closely with Academic Society committee members and University academic staff to help establish new societies, support existing groups to grow and deliver engaging activities, and ensure societies remain sustainable through effective committee recruitment and transition.
You will act as a key point of contact for Academic Societies, providing advice and support during drop-in sessions, gathering feedback from students, capturing the impact of Academic Society activities, and helping to implement improvements that enhance our Academic Society offering.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your communication, relationship management, project management and administrative skills while making a meaningful contribution to academic societies and helping students get the most from their university experience.
Skills you'll need:- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate to people at all levels
- Empathy and good listening skills
- Outstanding organisation skills, including excellent attention to detail
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
- A commitment to working in a fast paced environment
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
