1. Educational Technology (GenerativeAI & Online Learning) - UBD/C3L/001
  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic leadership in the integration of digital technologies and generative artificial intelligence into teaching, learning, and assessment within C3L programmes.
  • Designing and supporting high-quality online and blended learning for lifelong learners, micro-credentials, and modular programmes.
  • Support curriculum innovation, develop AI-enabled pedagogical approaches, contribute to staff capacity building in digital teaching, and engage in scholarly research related to educational technology, learning analytics, and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Academic and Professional Requirements: PhD in Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in:
  • Online and blended learning, digital pedagogy, and the pedagogical application of generative AI in education.
  • Teaching experience in higher education and an active research profile in educational technology or related areas.

2. Adult & Lifelong Education (Competency-Based Education and Recognition of Prior Learning) - UBD/C3L/002
  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic leadership in adult and lifelong education, with particular responsibility for competency-based education and the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
  • Design flexible and modular curricula for adult learners, developing assessment frameworks and portfolio-based evaluation for RPL, and supporting the alignment of programmes with national qualification frameworks.
  • Contribute to governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of lifelong learning and micro-credential initiatives at C3L. Where appropriate, the appointee may collaborate with academic units within UBD, including the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE), to support research, policy development, and capacity building in lifelong learning.
  • Academic and Professional Requirements: PhD in Adult Education, Lifelong Learning, Education Policy, Instructional Design, Workforce Development, or a closely related field. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in:
  • Competency-based education, Recognition of Prior Learning, curriculum design for adult learners, and qualification framework alignment.
  • Experience in higher education teaching and scholarly research in adult or lifelong learning is required.

  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic leadership in workforce and professional education, with a focus on industry-based and work-integrated learning.
  • Designing and delivering professionally oriented curricula, developing applied learning and workplace-based assessment models, and supporting professional and executive education programmes.
  • Engagement with industry and public sector partners, contributing to national upskilling initiatives, and undertaking applied research in workforce development and professional learning.
  • Collaborate with relevant academic units within UBD, including SHBIE, on initiatives related to professional education, teacher development, and applied learning research.

  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead academic innovation in digital learning systems and digital credentials, including micro-credentials, digital badges, and verifiable certificates.
  • Designing and managing digital credential architectures, supporting learning management and credential platforms, and contributing to research on credential portability, learner authentication, and digital trust.
  • Support the scalability and quality assurance of C3L's digital lifelong learning ecosystem and contribute to scholarly research in digital learning innovation.
