Job Description
Role summary
We are currently seeking a 7.5 t Driver to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations, primarily within and around the London area. This driver role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working independently and is committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Your role will include
-
- Safely and efficiently operate a 7.5t truck for deliveries and collections.
- Successfully navigate routes, particularly within the London Congestion Charge zone and other restricted areas.
- Plan and manage delivery schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Independently load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring items are secured safely during transit.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Complete all necessary delivery paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to all road traffic regulations, company policies, and health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle.
- Be available for occasional overnight runs as required, ensuring goods are delivered to destinations outside of regular working hours.
- Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding any delays, issues, or route changes.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and collections.
You will need:
- Valid UK driving license with C1 entitlement (7.5 t).
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Demonstrable experience of loading and unloading goods independently.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Flexibility to undertake occasional overnight runs.
- Strong geographical knowledge of London and surrounding areas.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A professional, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- A clean driving record is preferred
Desirable (but not essential):
- Forklift-Counter Balance Certificate
