Job Description
3306 - Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Medical SDEC 
Your role in SDEC will include:
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute medical presentations
- Autonomy
- Support from highly skilled and specialised Consultants
- Support junior staff and contribute to service development
- Demonstrate understanding of current developments in the specialty.
- Knowledge of current NHS, Professional and educational issues.
- Knowledge of current Advanced Clinical Practice policy and framework drivers.
- Knowledge of clinical governance and risk assessment/management.
- Knowledge of infection control issues.
- Knowledge and understanding of statutory and professional requirements.
- Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures.
- Awareness of confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proven ability and competence with regard to interventional skills expected at middle grade medical clinical level.
- Evidence of both theoretical skills and practical skills and competency in all aspects of patient management.
- Ability to influence within the organisation through demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Ability to motivate all members of the MDT through demonstration of excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate reliability and adaptability through excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Leadership, diplomacy and negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop protocols and guidelines.
- Computer skills: Clinical systems, Radiology, Microbiology, pathology, requesting as per trust protocol.
- Ability to write reports for senior management and work to deadlines.
- Experience at working at band 7 level or equivalent in an acute care setting or prehospital.
- Evidence of recent teaching, mentorship and supervision of staff.
- Evidence of involvement in change management.
- Evidence of continuing professional development, innovation and implementation of successful change management initiatives.
- Broad range of clinical expertise and experience in elderly care.
- Experience of undertaking research and audit processes.
- Clear understanding of acute performance targets, key performance indicators and ability to identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
- Evidence of commitment to developing the frailty ACP service.
- Evidence of service improvement and change.

- Professional Registration: NMC/Paramedic/other allied health professional.
- Masters Qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice.
- Advanced Physical Assessment qualification (MSc Level).
- Registered V300 Independent prescribing qualification.
- Chest Radiographic Interpretation Qualification (Msc Level).
- Attained/working towards frailty competencies.
- Advanced Resuscitation (ALS).
- Leadership/Management course.
- Teaching/Mentorship Qualification.
- ENB 298/941 Care of Older People or equivalent frailty module.
- IRMER training.
