The Lothian Clinical Health Psychology Service is advertising a permanent Band 8B (0.8wte) Senior Clinical Health Psychology post. This post is a key part of the service and operates as the deputy to the Professional Lead. You will be the Service Lead for the Pain Management Service, which comprises a very friendly, dedicated and motivated team of Applied Psychologists, CAAPs and Specialist Pain Physiotherapists. There are close relationships with the Pain Service (Consultant Anaesthetists and Specialist Pain Nurses) and opportunities for MDT working across both arms of the service. You will also have operational management responsibility for colleagues working within the ME/CFS, Amputee Psychology and Weight Management services. Engagement in CPD activity is encouraged, as is participation in the physical health psychology ACT and CFT supervision groups.
The Clinical Health Psychology team is welcoming and supportive, with 25 clinicians working across 15 different physical health specialties in acute hospital, outpatient and community settings, and there are many opportunities for networking across the wider team, in addition to regular team meetings.
ResponsibilitiesLead the Pain Management Service and serve as deputy to the Professional Lead. Provide senior clinical health psychology service delivery, supervision and guidance to team members. Contribute to MDT working across physical health specialities and provide operational management within ME/CFS, Amputee Psychology and Weight Management services. Engage in CPD activities and supervision groups as applicable.
Qualifications and requirementsExperience as a senior clinician within clinical health psychology and demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams. Ability to work across acute hospital, outpatient and community settings. Commitment to CPD and interprofessional collaboration.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
