The Role Are you a dynamic clinical pharmacist ready to drive innovation and improve outcomes for patients with complex respiratory needs? Join us as a Highly Specialist Clinical Pharmacist for Respiratory Care, leading the way in advanced pharmacy practice within severe asthma pathways and virtual ward services.

What we'll need you to bring Masters degree in Pharmacy
Registered to practice with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council (mandatory requirement)
Minimum 6 years hospital pharmacy experience with 4 years working within a clinical or technical speciality
Ability to monitor patient therapeutic regimens to ensure effectiveness and reduce toxicity.
Previous experience in delivering training and education at post-graduate level.
Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice.
Demonstrate advanced level of clinical reasoning and judgement.
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work to deadlines and manage resources
Participation in weekend and public holiday working
Participation in pharmacy emergency duty service (if appropriate)
Post graduate degree / diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or Management
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have Experience in the specialist area the post covers
Evidence of progress to / completion of a higher level professional accreditation program
Evidence of research activity in either pharmacy practice or medicines utilisation
Ability to undertake the duties of pre-registration pharmacist tutor
Ability to influence senior pharmacy medical and managerial staff and the multidisciplinary team
Contract type Fixed Term or Secondment for 18 months
Part Time
22.2 hours
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Please note this is a fixed term post for 18 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

- Optimising biologic therapy pathways
- Leading pharmaceutical care in respiratory virtual wards
- Developing and delivering evidence-based prescribing protocols
- Championing medicines optimisation, safety, and value across the respiratory service
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a forward-thinking pharmacist with:
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Post-registration clinical experience, ideally within respiratory care
- A postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy & evidence of or working towards professional accreditation
- Independent prescribing qualification
- Strong leadership and MDT collaboration skills
- A passion for service improvement and digital transformation
