Full Time - Part Time - Job Share - Flexible Working
Location: Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 0NZ
Start date: 25 June 2026

Responsibilities
  • Protect the public and maintain a secure environment within the prison
  • Support prisoners' rehabilitation through opportunities such as counselling, teaching and other roles
  • Build constructive, professional relationships with prisoners' to facilitate positive change
  • Work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required
Eligibility & Qualifications
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Meet Civil Service nationality requirements (UK, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkish nationals with right to work status)
  • Pass a medical and fitness assessment (eyesight, hearing, general health)
  • Be a UK resident for the last 3 years if applying to a high security (Category A) prison

Pay
  • 37 hours a week - £35,746 per year
  • 39 hours a week - £37,875 per year
  • 41 hours a week - £40,003 per year

Assessment Process
