Position Overview:

The Middle School Instructional Coach is a certificated instructional leader dedicated to improving teaching and learning outcomes for all students. This role focuses on building teacher capacity through coaching, modeling, and professional learning aligned to best practices in instruction, with an emphasis on equity, engagement, and student achievement. The Instructional Coach works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure high quality, data driven instruction across all content areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide job embedded coaching to teachers through observation, feedback, co planning, and co teaching
  • Model effective instructional strategies aligned to standards and best practices
  • Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) focused on student achievement and instructional improvement
  • Support teachers in analyzing student data to inform instruction and interventions
  • Collaborate with school leadership to align coaching cycles with school wide goals
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum and assessments
  • Support new teachers through mentoring and onboarding processes
  • Monitor and support implementation of school wide instructional initiatives
  • Foster a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement
Core Areas of Focus:
  • Support teachers in designing and implementing instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners
  • Promote the use of flexible grouping, scaffolding, and targeted interventions
  • Ensure equitable access to grade level content for all students
2. Student Engagement
  • Coach teachers on strategies that increase student voice, ownership, and participation
  • Promote culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Support the use of inquiry based, collaborative, and hands on learning experiences
3. MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Supports)
  • Assist teachers in identifying students in need of additional support or enrichment
  • Support the implementation of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions
  • Collaborate with interventionists and leadership teams to monitor student progress
  • Support teachers in effectively integrating digital tools to enhance instruction and learning
  • Promote the use of technology for differentiation, assessment, and engagement
  • Provide training on instructional technology platforms and best practices
Position Requirements:
  • Valid state teaching certification (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of successful Title I middle school teaching experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in literacy and/or numeracy instruction
  • Strong knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum design, and assessment
  • Experience with coaching adults and facilitating professional development
  • Knowledge of MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Supports) frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze student data and support instructional decision making
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction
