Anexciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered childrens nurseto join the childrens services team and work in the Childrens Assessment Unitat Barnsley Hospital. Our purpose-built area opened in March 2021 and this yearwe have won the prestigious HSJ aware for innovation in 2024.
Weare looking to recruit someone who is motivated, hard working and excells in afast paced environment. You will support the lead nurse in deliveringpatient-centred, high-quality care. You will be happy working alongside themulti-disciplinary team as the nurse in charge of the childrens assessmentunit.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work as part of a team of staff and co-ordinate theclinical workload and ensure the effective and efficient use of resourcesduring the shift period. The post holder will co-ordinate the clinical workloadand ensure the effective use of resources through the deployment of staff,monitoring of skill mix and utilisation of clinical competence and experience.
The post holder will ensure the safe custody, administration andeconomical use of drugs and surgical supplies.
The post holder will undertake rotational duties and be expected toadopt a flexible approach to working practices to meet the needs of theservice.

Person Specification Qualifications- 1st level registered nurse Child Branch
- Significant experience at band 5 in specialty
- Educated to degree level (or working towards)
- Evidence of relevant post registration education and development
- 998 or other recognised teaching course
