Maternity Cover Branch Head Nurse - 12-month FTC
Location: Wimborne, Dorset
A fulfilling and leadership-oriented opportunity awaits at a reputable small animal practice based in the scenic locale of Wimborne, Dorset. The practice is seeking a friendly, supportive, and patient Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to head their nursing team.
The Role:
- The successful candidate will be based at the main hospital site in Wimborne, with cover at Verwood if required.
- The role involves a mixture of day procedures, operations, and medical workups, as well as caring for inpatients for the duration of their treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting the nursing team
- Mentoring less experienced team members
- Nurse rota and cover management
- Working within the team on the nursing rota (admin/float time allocated)
The Hours:
- The position is full-time, with either a 4- or 5-day week offered.
- Shifts are between 08:00 and 19:00, Monday to Friday
- Saturday from 08:00 to 13:00.
- No out-of-hours work is required.
The Team:
The nursing team is friendly and enthusiastic, consisting of 12 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 3 ACAs, and 6 receptionists, along with on-site administrators and a Practice Manager. The team typically works alongside 4-5 Vets a day.
The Salary: They are offering an excellent salary from £34,000 p/a - reflective of skills and experience
