1:1 Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with Additional Learning Needs? New Directions Education is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 basis in schools across Cardiff.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey by providing tailored support that helps them thrive both academically and emotionally.

As a 1:1 ALN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide individualised support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, and behavioural or emotional needs
• Assist in implementing personalised learning plans
• Support the pupil's engagement, confidence, and social development
• Work closely with teachers, ALNCOs, and external professionals
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

• Experience working with children or young people with ALN (school-based or similar settings)
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approachStrong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
