1:1 Teaching Assistant - Autism Support (Year 6)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with Autism in a welcoming primary setting in Middleton on the Wolds.

About the School

This inclusive primary school provides a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils with additional needs are supported through tailored interventions and strong pastoral care. Staff work closely together to ensure every pupil can access learning and prepare confidently for transition into secondary education.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with Autism
• Support learning across core primary subjects
• Use consistent routines and structured support strategies
• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO

Requirements

• Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASC
• Patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Experience in a primary setting preferred
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
• Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
