Job description

Diocese of Hallam. Our Lady and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School is a one form entry Catholic Primary School situated in Wath-upon-Dearne in Rotherham. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child currently in Year 3 who has a tracheostomy and significant communication needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, experience of working with children with additional needs, and excellent interpersonal skills. They will play a key role in supporting the child's learning, communication, independence and wellbeing, ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of school life.

Responsibilities include supporting the child's learning, communication, independence, and wellbeing throughout the school day, assisting with routine health and care needs, and ensuring the child can fully access learning opportunities and participate in all aspects of school life while a trained carer is present with the child at all times.

Qualifications
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualifications (or a commitment to begin this training)
  • Experience of working with children
  • A kind and caring attitude towards children of all ages
  • A good sense of humour and ability to work as part of a team
