Job Description

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - West Drayton

Full time September2026 start Full academic year. £95 £105 per day PAYE (depending on experience and qualifications), equivalent to approximately £120 per day umbrella.

The Role
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a mainstream classroom.
  • Support a child with ASD and learning difficulties.
  • Help the child settle into school routines and their new environment.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
  • Support access to learning and classroom activities.
  • Use appropriate strategies to support communication, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Encourage independence and participation wherever possible.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team.
  • Follow and contribute to individual support strategies where appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD.
  • Experience working in a primary school or similar educational setting.
  • Patient, nurturing, and consistent.
  • Can build strong professional relationships with pupils.
  • Understands the importance of routine, structure, and clear communication.
  • Confident supporting a child with learning difficulties.
  • Can work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Pay & Hours
