Job Description

Role Purpose

You will actively support the policies and aims of St Margaret's Prep School while effectively teaching and encouraging pupils to develop - both inside the classroom and outside within our beautiful grounds and beyond. We are seeking an outstanding primary teacher with EY experience to join our flourishing and dedicated teaching team.

You will teach small classes of pupils and undertake all necessary form duties to ensure that our pupils are safe, happy, and thriving at school.

The duties below are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, and the postholder may be required by the Headteacher to carry out other appropriate tasks within the context of the role, skills, and grade.

Key Responsibilities Teaching
  • Teach pupils assigned to you, register attendance, supervise, and set and mark work (including examinations) to be completed in school or elsewhere.
  • Maintain good order and discipline safeguarding pupils' health and safety both on school premises and during authorised school activities.
  • Plan and prepare courses and lessons.
  • Promote the general progress and wellbeing of pupils, keeping records and reports on their development, attainment, and personal and social needs.
  • Provide guidance and advice to pupils on educational and social matters.
  • Communicate and consult with parents, participating in meetings arranged for the purposes described above.
  • Maintain and monitor displays of pupils' work in appropriate areas of the school.
  • Provide pastoral care to promote the wellbeing of pupils.
  • Communicate and cooperate with persons or bodies outside the school.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the requirements for independent school scholarships.
